Suggested Itinerary

2 nights
Spend 2 nights in Vancouver and visit Gastown for shops, bars and restaurants. The historic steam clock tunes up every 15 minutes. Chinatown offers great value dining and visit Granville Island for its famous market. Spend time in Stanley Park to admire totem poles and enjoy the stunning views over Lions Gate Bridge and Burrard Inlet.

Vancouver to Oliver and Osoyoos (Canada’s only true desert)
2 nights - 270 miles
Visit Manning Provincial Park and Canyon Nature Trail which follows the Similkameen River. Continue onto Oliver, a small agricultural town. End the day at Osoyoos Lake.

Osoyoos to Nelson
2 nights - 165 miles
Visit NK’Mip Desert Cultural Centre then dip your toes in Osoyoos Lake known as the warmest in Canada. Look out for wild horses that roam the area. The drive includes incredible vistas and quirky roadside cafes.

Nelson to Panorama
2 nights - 240 miles
Hire a bike and cycle the west arm of Kootenay Lake before visiting Touchstones Museum of Art. Pass through Fort Steele Heritage Town and glimpse life in an old gold-mining town on the way to Panorama Mountain Resort.

Kootenay National Park. Take a short hike to Marble Canyon and Stanley Glacial Trail for great views or paddle down the Kootenay River in a canoe.

Panorama to Kicking Horse
2 nights - 95 miles
See Boo the Bear at the Grizzly Bear Refuge. Enjoy this alpine resort and mountain views into five national parks. Visit Golden for rafting, biking, zip lining and hiking. The Northern Lights Wolf Centre offer photographic opportunities and walking with the wolves sessions. Take a day to see Yoho National Park where you can head out on accessible trails to see Emerald Lake, Takakkaw Falls and Natural Bridge. Keep your eyes peeled for bears and elk along the roadside.

Kicking Horse to Revelstoke
1 night - 100 miles
Cross through Glacier National Park and explore an inland rainforest followed by Mount Revelstoke National Park with its alpine meadows and marshlands home to a variety of bird species.

Revelstoke to Sun Peaks
2 nights - 165 miles
Descend mountain roads to the sandy shoreline of Shuswap Lake and try out numerous water sports followed by a visit the BC Wildlife Park with over 40 species of animals including the elusive Spirit Bear (Kermode Bear).

Sun Peaks to Vancouver
240 miles
Take a leisurely drive back to Vancouver alongside valleys and rivers or extend your stay with a visit to Whistler and ride the Peak Chair to the top of Whistler Mountain.
