Off The Beaten Track 11 Nights This is truly a remote and 'off the beaten track' journey around Zambia where you will experience the contrast of the river valleys of Luangwa and the Zambezi whilst enjoying breathtaking game viewing. A popular option on this safari is the walking safari, which may allow you to see the smaller creatures up close. Day 1 South Luangwa National Park Met on arrival at Lusaka Airport and assisted for your connecting flight to Mfuwe in South Luangwa (approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes). Met and driven to your camp (approximately 2 hours 30 minutes). Afternoon game viewing will be on foot (although a safari vehicle is available if you would prefer). Overnight : Luwi Bushcamp Meals : Lunch and Dinner Day 2 South Luangwa National Park Enjoy morning and afternoon game viewing either on foot (typically 3-4 hours) or in a safari vehicle, on the look out for a variety of animals. Overnight : Luwi Bushcamp Meals : Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Day 3 South Luangwa National Park Depart early for your walking safari to your next camp down the Luwi River (approximately 3-4 hours). Walks are slow with plenty of stops in shady spots for refreshments. Walking from camp to camp is an excellent way to experience the bush, and gives a real expedition feel to the trip. Overnight : Nsolo Bushcamp Meals : Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Day 4 South Luangwa National Park Enjoy morning and afternoon game viewing either on foot (typically 3-4 hours) or in a safari vehicle, on the look out for a variety of animals. Overnight : Nsolo Bushcamp Meals : Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Day 5 South Luangwa National Park For your evening safari experience you will walk down river to a spot where you will experience a night under the stars (approximately 1 hour). Dinner will be cooked on the camp fire. With just a net and the African sky above you, and your small party for company, of all your nights in the bush these are truly 'off the beaten track'. Overnight: Luwi Riverbed. Meals : Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Day 6 South Luangwa National Park After breakfast, cooked on the camp fire, you will walk to your next camp (approximately 1 hour), Kakuli which is a tented camp set on the banks of the Luangwa River. There are a few more roads in this area of the Park than you have been experiencing so far, so much of the game-viewing from Kakuli will be in a vehicle. Although the Luangwa is well known for its great game there are few parts of the Park that can compete with the area around Kakuli. Overnight : Kakuli Camp Meals : Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Day 7 South Luangwa National Park Today you will enjoy all your game viewing activities in a safari vehicle. Overnight : Kakuli Camp Meals : Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Day 8 Livingstone Drive to Mfuwe airport (approximately 2-3 hours) in time for the light aircraft flight to Lusaka (approximately 1 hour 10 minutes) connecting with a flight to Livingstone (approximately 1 hour 10 minutes). You will be met on arrival and transferred from Tongabezi by boat to Sindabezi Island Camp in the middle of the Zambezi River up-stream from the Falls. Overnight : Sindabezi Island Camp Meals : Breakfast Day 9 Livingstone Spend the day at leisure to enjoy the beautiful scenery around the Zambezi River or partake of one of the many optional activities that can be booked locally. Overnight : Sindabezi Island Camp Meals : Breakfast Day 10 Lower Zambezi National Park After breakfast transfer to Livingstone airport for your flight to Lusaka (approximately 1 hour 10 minutes) and then a light aircraft flight to Jeki airstrip (approximately 40 minutes). Met on arrival and enjoy a game drive en route to your camp, overlooking one of the channels that run along the edge of the main Zambezi River. Elephants and buffalo are as prolific here as almost anywhere else in this valley and they have no concerns about coming through camp, day or night. This area of the Park is great for game viewing especially for both lion and leopard. Overnight : Old Mondoro Meals : Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Day 11 Lower Zambezi National Park In the Lower Zambezi National Park you can enjoy a variety of game viewing activities including game drives, walking safaris, canoe and boat trips. Overnight : Old Mondoro Meals : Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Day 12 Depart After breakfast transfer to the Jeki airstrip for the light aircraft flight to Lusaka (approximately 40 minutes) in time to connect with your onward flight. Meals included : Breakfast 15 kg luggage allowance on all light aircraft. Children under 12 years are not permitted on this safari.
