Visit the Yeats room at the Sligo County museum to see manuscripts, photographs, letters and a copy of his 1923 Nobel Prize winning medal and a complete collection of his poems from 1889 to 1936. See his final resting place at the peaceful churchyard in Drumcliffe located at the foot of Benbulben Mountain. The museum also houses paintings by Irish artists George Russell, Sean Keating and Jack. B. Yeats, brother of WB Yeats.

Spend time on one of the many award winning beaches along this part of the Wild Atlantic Way. Experience the surf at Strandhill beach, Dunmoran Strand and Enniscrone beach, which has over two miles of excellent surfing conditions suitable for the novice and intermediate surfer. Two surf schools are available in a safe and enjoyable environment with surfboards and wet suits provided, making Enniscrone the perfect location for a surfing holiday in Ireland.

Experience rural life and Irish heritage at the Sligo Folk Park, set in the grounds of the restored Millview House. Stroll around the park, visit the museum and take a walk down the Village Street and call at the creamery store, grocery shop and pub.

Located on the West bank of the River Corrib stands Galway Cathedral, completed in 1965 it is located on the site of the former city jail and is home to a 145ft dome that dominates the city landscape.

Wander around the city walls and take time to see the Spanish Arch. Dating back to pre-medieval times the Spanish Arch was built in 1584 as an extension of the 12th century Norman built town wall.

Galway City Museum is a spacious, modern building, situated in the heart of Galway city on the banks of the River Corrib, overlooking the famous Spanish Arch. It houses a variety of permanent and touring exhibitions representing Galway's rich archaeology, heritage and history.
