Located in 20 acres of boreal forest you will find the Alaska Zoological Park which has provided a home for orphaned, injured and captive-born animals for over four decades. The Park is dedicated to providing conservation of Arctic, sub-Arctic and like climate species through education, research and community enrichment. Martins World Travel highly recommend a visit whilst staying in Alaska.
The park offers a number of special encounters with the animals where you can experience the animals through the eyes of the keepers. You can spend the day with the keepers and go behind the scenes of the tiger, brown bear or snow leopard enclosures. You can help feed the animals including wolves, the walking with wolves experience is a much sought after attraction. The animal encounter experience offers a choice of wolves or big cats and involves making diets, cleaning and training with the animal’s zookeeper.
